About Andrea Jablonski
Andrea Jablonski is a multidisciplinary artist born in Poland and calling Chicago her home.
Jablonski spent her 20s traveling the world, exploring diverse cultures and working some very odd jobs including picking fruit in Australia.
In her 30s, Jablonski toured the United States extensively, playing bass and singing in several bands. Most notably, she formed and fronted a local sludge outfit, Rabid Rabbit which earned critical acclaim and sealed her reputation as a lively performer.
Now in her 40s, Jablonski has spent the last few years translating her artistic aesthetic into a successful career as a painter and fabricator. Her work focuses on site specific and immersive installations as well as colorful collage work. She has a diverse range of clients and collectors.
She has earned many grants and merits, including being named one of Chicago Reader’s People Of The Year 2011 and a featured artist for Chicago Artists’ Month 2014.
She continues to exhibit regularly and curate/organize events occasionally.
Jablonski works with many community arts organizations, including Elastic Arts, Opera-Matic and After School Matters.
She also hosts a Eastern European themed radio show on Lumpen Community Radio once a month.
