Drummer and Guitarist

Cabinet of Curiosity is seeking a Drummer and a Guitarist for live paid outdoor spectacle in partnership with The Hideout. The work is highly visual and wild:

COVID Precautions

There will be no more than 3 weeks of in-person rehearsal which will be done safely outdoors OR at a large studio space with ample room to spread out. Masks will be worn at all times. This production is, overall, being created with COVID in mind. All precautions are being taken to create the framework for the show based around the safety of the performers and audience members involved. Cast and audience will be small. Temperature checks will be done at each rehearsal and testing will be required before the run of the show. 

Time commitment

  • 4 Workshops in April. Each 3 hours long. On Zoom. Timing based on cast availability

  • In-Person Rehearsals at 1965 W. Pershing Rd from June 21st-July 2nd AND July 6th-July 7th from 4-10pm.

  • Shows begin July 8th and run for 3 weekends. Shows on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at the Hideout. 7PM call each night. Show Dates: 7/8-7/11, 7/15-7/18, and 7/22-725 with POSSIBLE EXTENSION: 7/29-8/1.

Performers must be comfortable with the following: 

  • Off-Book before in-person rehearsals begin on June 21st

  • Music responsibilities will be given to all cast members including those that are not musicians. Nothing crazy- banging drums, shaking shakers.

  • Performing outdoors (mics will be used)

  • Utilizing clowning skills and exaggerated performance

  • Gender blind role assignments

  • Handling large scale puppets

  • 1 week extension of the show if it is well attended (see above)

 

PAYMENT

Approx. $2000 Stipend (All performers will be paid $20 per hour for rehearsal and performance hours work. Rehearsal hours may vary from original schedule. Not everyone will be called to each rehearsal.)
